Melanie is a RADA trained writer-director with 15+ years in industry. Known as a ‘performance whisperer,’ she has been a discreet helping hand on award-winning programmes and a trusted private coach to actors, sports stars and public figures.

She is also an artist in her own right.

As a director and associate, her credits include National Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Soho Theatre and West End. She has travelled to America, Australia and Sweden to work on bespoke projects for Wellcome Trust and also directed large-scale events for Excel Centre in London.

For television, she cast Simon Amstell’s cult hit Carnage (BBC iPlayer), bringing together a huge cast of national treasures and new faces. She has also worked as a contributing director on high-profile current affairs documentaries, including the BAFTA & RTS nominated Russell Brand In Plain Sight (Dispatches / Channel 4).

As a writer, Melanie is the recipient of JB Priestley Prize from the Royal Literary Foundation. She has received commissions from leading institutions including National Theatre Studio, Channel 4, National Theatre of Scotland and many regional venues.

She has written for BBC Radio 4 and her screenplays have been held in high public regard by industry leaders including Stephen Knight (Peaky Blinders), who hand-picked her work for an inaugural TV prize given in his name.

A percentage of all Melanie’s corporate revenue goes towards charities working to realise the UN Global Goal of Quality Education & Lifelong Learning. Early in her career, Melanie worked closely with refugees with Write to Life at Freedom From Torture. She remains a committed supporter of this London charity.
